The Tribute Vol. 5 is the fifth chapter in what has quietly become an annual release every February, landing around the birthday weekend of one of the greatest to ever do it. What started as a simple tribute has grown into one of the most requested series on the site, built around feel, intention, and respect for the craft. This volume is also one of the last packs recorded in Tamuz’s Brooklyn, New York studio. Every sound was captured using vintage acoustic drum kits, classic microphones, and real tape machines, all with the goal of translating drum machine inspired ideas through a drummer’s hands. Loose pockets, natural push and pull, and the kind of swing that only comes from touch.
